Alba Nurseries delivers a fresh and unique approach to early years education, one that puts teaching children the skills of wellbeing at its heart. Our strong curriculum provides children with learning opportunities from yoga and mindfulness, to science experiments, to forest schools.

 

A strong partnership with parents is always at the core of our offering and our eco-centric way of operating and teaching the children, helps build the next generation of sustainability aware little humans.

We use modern Montessori pedagogy, combined with the latest research in child development, child psychology and neuroscience to create a loving learning environment where kindness, curiosity and mindfulness thrive, while building the skills that give your child a real advantage in school and in life.

Planning of activities and of the environment is centred around the needs of each individual child. That way, they have plenty of opportunities to build on their skills, while participating in engaging play. Each child is able to use unique Montessori equipment to further investigate areas they find of interest. This gives our pupils a deeper understanding of concepts such as numbers, gravity, relative sizes, spacial awareness and much more.

Research shows that a Montessori approach has a number of tangible benefits for child development:

Alongside our classroom learning, we also offer a Forest School experience. The philosophy of Forest School takes some of its ideas from Montessori and encourages and inspires children to develop their personal, social and emotional skills through activities that have them directly interacting with their natural surroundings, and with each other.  Please do chat with us before deciding if this is something your child will enjoy, but we think the smile on your child's face as they emerge from the woodland will tell you all you need to know!
